Presented by Arman Rahmim at UBC Physics & Astronomy Department Colloquium on November 5, 2020.
3 minute summary (pitch) of our research to graduate students at the UBC Department of Physics & Astronomy (Sept 24, 2020):
Congratulations to Yansong Zhu who has been awarded the 2020 Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI) Bradley-Alavi Student Fellowship!
Yansong, Electrical & Computer Engineering PhD candidate in our team, is actively pursuing research in quantitative brain PET images. The awarded fellowship, entitled, “Application of voxel-based partial volume correction to amyloid PET imaging” proposes to translate MR-guided PET image enhancement to human amyloid PET imaging, aiming to enhance discriminative power to differentiate between Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and normal aging.
Bradley-Alavi Fellows are named in honor of the late Stanley E. Bradley, Professor of Medicine at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and a prominent researcher in the fields of renal physiology and liver disease, and Abass Alavi, M.D., Professor and Director of Research Education at the Department of Radiology at the University of Pennsylvania.
